Common applications
80–100 mesh powder at 95–98% purity provides the water-binding and structure-forming properties that replace gluten in rice flour and corn starch doughs. Typical usage rate 1–3% of flour weight.
100–200 mesh fine powder disperses quickly without clumping in fibre-enriched drink powders, meal replacements, and protein shakes. Lower swell volume grades (85–95%) reduce gel viscosity at typical use levels.
Whole husk and coarse powder (40–60 mesh) used in breakfast cereals, granola bars, and muesli to increase soluble fibre content. Visible husk texture is accepted or preferred in these product categories.
Psyllium husk powder is used as a clean-label alternative to methylcellulose and xanthan gum in sauces, dressings, and prepared food matrices. Organic-positioned lots require certificate and lot-scope review before quotation.
